Lt. General Dallaire Begins Testimony
19 January 2004 Retired Lieutenant General Romeo Dallaire, the Canadian who commanded the United Nations Assistance Mission in Rwanda (UNAMIR) from October 1993 to August 1994, today began his testimony before Trial Chamber I in the Bagosora et al case, otherwise known as the ‘Military Trial I’. More Ad Litem Judges to the Tribunal
29 October 2003 On Monday 27 October 2003, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 1512 and increased the number of ad litem judges who may serve on the Tribunal at any one time, from four to nine. It also authorized ad litem judges to adjudicate in pre-trial proceedings. These statutory amendments were requested by the Tribunal in September this year.
