Judge Vaz, President of Senegal's Supreme Court, appointed to Rwanda Tribunal
4 June 2001 The United Nations Secretary-General Mr. Kofi Annan has appointed Ms. Andrésia Vaz from Senegal as a Judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Judge Vaz replaces Judge Laïty Kama, also from Senegal, who passed away on 6 May 2001.

Appeals Chamber upholds sentences in the Akayesu, Kayishema and Ruzindana trials

Newly elected judges sworn in
